The Founding Fathers were not ignorant of the elusive and often despicable methods of politics. They observed the worst in England and then saw similar situations occurring in the newly forming and very young United States. So one has to wonder why they wouldn’t have put something in place to assist in protecting the country against the potential of a take-over by one party or the other? They had already learned and witnessed history with such so-called leaders as Napoleon and one can only assume that they felt secure that somewhere, somehow, there would be people in power that would call a halt.
To say that we are in a Constitutional crisis is an understatement. There has never before been a morphing of one of the two main parties into an axis of evil. But this is what the Republican Party has become and it hasn’t happened overnight. Knowing that they are the minority in voting numbers, they have devoted years to gerrymandering in a variety of states so that they would come out the winners. This is not to say that the Democrats haven’t done something similar, but the Republicans have honed it into a fine craft. As per a PBS News hour article: AP analysis shows how gerrymandering benefited GOP in 2016:
“The AP scrutinized the outcomes of all 435 U.S. House races and about 4,700 state House and Assembly seats up for election last year using a new statistical method of calculating partisan advantage. It’s designed to detect cases in which one party may have won, widened or retained its grip on power through political gerrymandering. The analysis found four times as many states with Republican-skewed state House or Assembly districts than Democratic ones.
The analysis found four times as many states with Republican-skewed state House or Assembly districts than Democratic ones. Among the two dozen most populated states that determine the vast majority of Congress, there were nearly three times as many with Republican-tilted U.S. House districts.”
“The data suggest that even if Democrats had turned out in larger numbers in the 2016 election, their chances of substantial legislative gains were limited by gerrymandering.”
But this is just the background of deceit. A good plan for a take-over involves many elements and for the 2016 election, it seems to have brought in the one thing that Americans never considered: interference by a hostile foreign government. To accomplish something like this, you have to get everyone that is in power or could potentially come to power, onboard. For the Republicans, who have transformed into a greedy group, this was a piece of cake. Eager to rip apart anything that President Obama accomplished for “we the people” and to line the pockets of their corporate donors, it was a walk in the park.
In a Rolling Stone article addressing this very topic: Latest Russian Hacking Bombshell: Damning Revelations About GOP, Trump
“It wasn’t just Donald Trump who dismissed and rejected charges that Russian spies hacked the election last year. Now we know that pretty much the entire Republican Party team did so, too — from the Republican congressional leadership down to GOP Secretaries of State in the states whose local electoral systems were under attack. They blithely served as Vladimir Putin’s defense team, even as President Obama’s national security aides were uncovering a vast Russian conspiracy to undermine America’s electoral process.
That’s just one conclusion from a blockbuster investigative piece published Friday by the Washington Post, telling the inside story of the Obama administration’s effort to grapple with the evolving Russian hack-and-leak effort in 2016.”
Well-Coordinated Effort with Macedonian and Russian Fake News
Now that Facebook has not only admitted to selling fake news and ads to the Russians for the purpose of altering the election outcome, we are realizing that many of these organizations made a lot of money on false narratives, stories, propaganda and conspiracy theories wrapped around “Hillary Clinton Hate”. This subject has been big business for quite some time, so it isn’t anything new. What IS new is that these outrageous accusations were repeated over and over again and since they agreed with the conservative and extreme left mindset, they were accepted as “truth” without fact checking.
While Facebook initially denied these charges, they have come forward to turn over the examples of these fake news to the Congressional investigative committees for RussiaGate. Facebook can’t even fall back on an excuse that it was a “completely automated system” as the darned ads and news was paid in Rubles.
This was the groundwork for a complete takeover of the 2016 election and while there currently isn’t evidence that the Republican Party was involved in the mess, they were certainly aware of it as it moved the needle closer to a win for them. The mere fact that there were SO many meetings prior to, during and even after the election between the Trump campaign and members of the Republican Party, the plans had already been set and the game had begun.
And if you think it has stopped, you are wrong. In a CNN.com article: The Fake News Machine — Inside a Town Gearing up for 2020 they state:
“Veles used to make porcelain for the whole of Yugoslavia. Now it makes fake news.
This sleepy riverside town in Macedonia is home to dozens of website operators who churn out bogus stories designed to attract the attention of Americans. Each click adds cash to their bank accounts.
The scale is industrial: Over 100 websites were tracked here during the final weeks of the 2016 U.S. election campaign, producing fake news that mostly favored Republican candidate for President Donald Trump.”
The astounding part about this is that when you visit any of the Facebook pages that support and promote Trump and the Republican Party, the people that claim they are conservatives not only feel that it’s “ok” that Russia influenced the 2016 election, they avidly make statements that indicate that they are aligned with and really like Russia. Although some individuals may be fake accounts or trolls, I did a personal experiment:
Over a period of less than a week I reported over 100 of these so-called pro-Russia, pro-Trump accounts on Facebook. Of these 100, only 7 were listed as false accounts.
Trump Campaign Changed Everything to Pro-Russia
If you are in doubt as to the devious plans and background relationships between the Trump Campaign, the GOP and Russia, simply look back to the pre-convention changes that were made by both them and the RNC.
In a July, 2016 Washington Post article they detail:
“The Trump campaign worked behind the scenes last week to make sure the new Republican platform won’t call for giving weapons to Ukraine to fight Russian and rebel forces, contradicting the view of almost all Republican foreign policy leaders in Washington.
Throughout the campaign, Trump has been dismissive of calls for supporting the Ukraine government as it fights an ongoing Russian-led intervention. Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, worked as a lobbyist for the Russian-backed former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych for more than a decade.
Still, Republican delegates at last week’s national security committee platform meeting in Cleveland were surprised when the Trump campaign orchestrated a set of events to make sure that the GOP would not pledge to give Ukraine the weapons it has been asking for from the United States.”
We now know that Manafort himself is under serious investigation and his role has been catapulted from a participant to a subpoena to testify, with Mueller in charge. This sort of communication along with changes in the RNC Convention guidelines could not have occurred without a majority of the Republican Party leaders being aware. The mere fact that so many of them ignored the reports from the U.S. Intelligence Services combined with those that have actually joined some of the meetings results in the understanding that they chose to turn a blind eye to achieve their goal of winning.
Beyond the Obvious
For anyone paying attention the connect-the-dots to the Trump campaign cannot be ignored. This is not a coincidence, even when conservatives keep bleating the same mantra that it is. We already know that Pence and Ryan were both aware of the underlying situation regarding Russian influence and as Mueller’s investigation moves forward it is going to get a lot more difficult for them to continue to deny it.
In a Quora article they include the subject of the “line of succession” which is getting shorter by the day:
“The line of succession is set down to ten places. Pence succeeds Trump. However, Pence is currently under suspicion for his own collusion with the Russians. So… next up is Paul Ryan. A few weeks ago, a tape surfaced indicating that Ryan might have known that Trump and Pence were working with the Russians after the election in ways that are unseemly. Ryan was (at least theoretically) aware that Trump and Pence were in violation of a number of laws regarding their contact with the Russians and should have informed the FBI. That would probably make it difficult for him to accept the position of POTUS.
Next on the roster is Senate President Pro Tempore Orrin Hatch. He is not exposed to the Russian scandal, and a week ago, a rumor circulated that he was being tapped to step in because Trump through Ryan were implicated in scandal, and Orrin Hatch had conflicts of interest. This false internet rumor suggests Orrin Hatch will be our next president. If Hatch is not available, next up is Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State.”
There is no denying that the Republican Party has sold their souls and the country for a bag of Rubles. They have devoted their lives to obstruction of anything that could benefit average Americans and instead promote the “idea” of less government intervention as the headline while instead lining their own pockets and those of their donors. Each and every decision that they have pushed has been to undermine and the prevalence of fake news being promoted on such channels as Fox not only continues the lies for their supporters but helps them to achieve their ultimate agenda:
Keep Americans poor, sick, uneducated and living in fear.
(they are easier to control that way)
In the Washington Post article: Republicans are becoming Russia’s accomplices:
“But it is the Republicans who are covering up. The party’s current leader, the president, questions the intelligence community’s findings, motives and integrity. Republican leaders in Congress have opposed the creation of any special investigating committee, either inside or outside Congress. They have insisted that inquiries be conducted by the two intelligence committees. Yet the Republican chairman of the committee in the House has indicated that he sees no great urgency to the investigation and has even questioned the seriousness and validity of the accusations. The Republican chairman of the committee in the Senate has approached the task grudgingly. The result is that the investigations seem destined to move slowly, produce little information and provide even less to the public. It is hard not to conclude that this is precisely the intent of the Republican Party’s leadership, both in the White House and Congress.
This approach not only is damaging to U.S. national security but also puts the Republican Party in an untenable position. When Republicans stand in the way of thorough, open and immediate investigations, they become Russia’s accomplices after the fact.”
As the Republican Party continues to push their horrid healthcare version of “DeathCare” they have many of their own constituents that are finally waking up to the fact that they simply don’t care about them and don’t have a clue how to truly “lead”. In a previous article that I wrote called: Republican Healthcare: The Culling of the Herd, I state:
“In the eyes of the conservatives, the poor and lower middle class are not only of no interest, but they are a drain on the social and financial structure of the country. They do not see them as individuals that deserve basic human dignity or respect, but as the old-school concept of ‘labor/slaves’. Their idea is that these people have a purpose in society and if they don’t work to earn enough to pay for the increased costs of healthcare, then they should simply deal with it and die, just as their ancestors did.”
For the Republicans, they are slamming through as many pieces of their hateful agenda as they can. Their attitude is that if they can’t get “DeathCare” passed, they will slowly squeeze ACA so that it eventually fails as well. Who does this? Who deliberately designs programs so that factions of Americans suffer and die?
To get this answer simply look to Putin and Russia. This is how Putin has crafted the country and he saw Trump as the useful idiot to undermine the election process of the United States. The Republicans went along for the ride. There is, however, one caveat and that is in the results of the Mueller investigation; and for that we need to wait and watch as more and more high ranking members of the Republican Party are implicated.
